Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of THE DARING GAME FOR GIRLS from Majesco for Nintendo Wii. Are you daring and a female human being between the ages of -8.9 months and 13 years old? Here’s the game for you? A collection of mini games that is strung together with a story to seem less a collection of mini games sprinkled with fun facts and trivia. While we are certainly not the target audience for this game parents may get a kick out of the review and find a game for their girls to enjoy. Solid production values and controls make this package better than its title would have you believe. Sadly, so many poorly produced mini-game collections have cast a shadow over this genre, but The Daring Game for Girls kicks some girl-power into the fact of lesser mini game collections with a bit of style. Now heres a Wii Virtual Console release that took me by surprise. The Legend of Mystical Ninja (or Ganbare Goemon) is an hilarious single or two player adventure into the wacky world of Kid Ying (Goemon) and Dr Yang (Ebisumaru) and their (mis)adventures across the land. I simply LOVE the town music. I also like the way that if you start making trouble, the town enforcers go GTA on you. And of course, everyone loves to be able to enter the arcade and play level 1 of Gradius III! I didn’t really mind the fact they changed the names of the main characters on this version, but was happy to see their original names retained on the next 2 chapters the were releases in the West, the N64 games. Its a shame that the next 3 SNES chapters never left Japan (I have vids of them and will upload them asap), but at least, since this is now on Wii VC, I think its both realistic and optimistic to believe that both excelent N64 versions will eventualy be re-released somewhere along the way. Who knew that smoking pipes, coins and Yoo-Yoo’s where such great weapons? Mind you, I’d never toss money out at enemies… And please disregard my poor playing skills, I was dead tired when recording this…
