CGR Undertow – THE DARING GAME FOR GIRLS for Nintendo Wii review

July 29th, 2010 by VC Review

Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of THE DARING GAME FOR GIRLS from Majesco for Nintendo Wii. Are you daring and a female human being between the ages of -8.9 months and 13 years old? Here’s the game for you? A collection of mini games that is strung together with a story to seem less a collection of mini games sprinkled with fun facts and trivia. While we are certainly not the target audience for this game parents may get a kick out of the review and find a game for their girls to enjoy. Solid production values and controls make this package better than its title would have you believe. Sadly, so many poorly produced mini-game collections have cast a shadow over this genre, but The Daring Game for Girls kicks some girl-power into the fact of lesser mini game collections with a bit of style. This CGR Undertow review of The Daring Game For Girls, based on the book The Daring Book for Girls, shows gameplay from The Daring Game For Girls on Nintendo Wii with game play.

Classic Game Room HD – TOURNAMENT OF LEGENDS for Nintendo Wii review

July 26th, 2010 by VC Review

Classic Game Room HD reviews TOURNAMENT OF LEGENDS for Nintendo Wii from High Voltage and Sega. This unique fighting game from High Voltage is published by Sega for Nintendo Wii. It can be played with the classic controller (Classic Controller Pro used for this review) or the standard Wiimote and nunchuk for motion controls. Numerous fighters await you in a different style of fighting game that stands out from the standard fare. Tournament of Legends is not dependant on special moves and button combos, rather it relies on tactical positioning and unleashing huge magic spells after landing hits on your enemy. A fun game that is a shock to the system because of its uniqueness, give it more than a few minutes when you play it. The control scheme is different and requires some practice, but once mastered you’ll probably enjoy your Tournement of Legends! This CGR review of Tournament of Legends has gameplay from Tournament of Legends on Nintendo Wii showing Tournament of Legends game play in HD.

Classic Game Room HD – Wii CLASSIC CONTROLLER PRO review

July 25th, 2010 by VC Review

Classic Game Room HD reviews the Nintendo Wii CLASSIC CONTROLLER PRO video game controller accessory. The Nintendo Wii Classic Controller Pro is a reworking of the original Wii Classic Controller with more of a PS2 controller feel. In fact, held up to a standard Playstation 2 controller you’ll see that they look remarkably similar. Both have hand grippy things, dual analog sticks and four buttons that are easily pressable on the front of the controller. The older Classic Controller has more of an SNES gamepad feel while the new one is slightly larger (because of the handles) and more comfortable in CGR’s opinion. This controller is perfect for games like Capcom’s Monster Hunter Tri and old school arcade shooters like Dead Moon and Biohazard Battle. This hardware review of the Nintendo Wii Classic Controller Pro reviews the Classic Controller Pro with HD video showing the piano gloss finish (which fingerprints easily) and details on the Wii accessory.

Classic Game Room HD – MONSTER HUNTER TRI for Nintendo Wii review

July 24th, 2010 by VC Review

Classic Game Room HD reviews MONSTER HUNTER TRI for Nintendo Wii from Capcom. Monster Hunter 3 Tri gameplay is solid and reminiscent of many PS2 adventure games. Played with the Nintendo Wii Classic Controller Pro you’ll get solid game play and controls when crushing monsters in Monster Hunter Tri, a massive RPG adventure style game with multiplayer. This gigantic hunter / gatherer adventure won’t be found on Playstation 3 PS3 or Xbox 360, Monster Hunter Tri is a Nintendo Wii exclusive title that will keep gamers occupied for days and weeks on end. This CGR review of Monster Hunter 3 Tri on Nintendo Wii has gameplay from Monster Hunter Tri showing Monster Hunter game play on Wii upconverted to HD.

Problems getting Mega Drive Virtual Console games working on PAL Wii 4.3E

July 17th, 2010 by VC Review

I can’t get Wonder Boy in Monster World to work. I try all TV types which are 50Hz (576i), 60Hz (480i) and EDTV / HDTV (480p). Every other game I own for the Virtual Console works. What can I possibly be doing wrong?
