My most anticipated Virtual Console game.
February 15th, 2010 by VC Review
When I did my video on my top 10 most anticipated Virtual Console games, I did not think that the first game to come would be my #1 choice. But since it did, I want to show you why I enjoy playing it.

Ah yes, you can’t beat the classics.
For me I’m not one to pay twice for the same game. Which is the main reason why I don’t spend much on the Virtual Console as I own a good number of those titles already. But that’s a topic for a different day.

Yeah as long as you enjoy what you’ve got, theres no need for more expensive stuff.
Played the demo as well, it was pretty fun.
My favourite arcade games: Pac-man/ astroids and space invaders. Cant beat them!

They do, but it’s tweaked a bit. It’s not a direct port of the Neo-Geo arcade game. They updated the graphics for it, and I think they added on-line play. Which would have been great if they did it for the wii as well, but i’m still pleased with what I have.

will do, i think they have that for sale on the xbox 360. Im not sure if its the exact one tho.
Thanks

Well, they are fun. i would say that the some of the 2D fighters are far better then their 3D counterparts. Take a look at Mortal Kombat.

Ive never played any of these games, my first console was an xbox 360. So i came in a bit late.
Did is miss anything good?

In all honesty I can not say one way or the other about Mortal Kombat Armageddon, the last MK game I played was MK3. I’ve heard mixed things about it; however, that’s other people’s opinion. If your looking for good 2D fighters I would say the old MK series, The Street Fighter 2 Series, and the Samurai Showdown Series are good picks. Killer Instinct is also good, but I think that might be a 3D fighter game more then 2D. Plus, it’s better to spend $8-$9 on a game, then $30 and be disappointed.

Great video! Ive been thinking of getting one of these 2D fighting games for a while, but im not sure as to which to get. I know Street Fighter 2 is supposed to be awesome (hell, you even said it), and Showdown 2 is another greeat game on VC, but ive been interesting in Mortal Kobat Armegeddaon for Wii. Im sure its pretty cheap now, but is it worth the $30? Or should i just go with one of the VC games (that dog attack was awesome btw)?

Agreed. World heroes was a exact duplicate of Street Fighter 2, but done very poorly. As I said, they soon realized that they had to give the player a gimmick to make the games different, but yet keep the same style of play.
The reason I think he is more a ninja is because there is another character in the game that has his same fighting style as him, but without the dog, and he is definitely a ninja.

Thanks,
yea, where I stopped the history lesson the arcade was starting to grow again. you were staring to find the games in different locations again, but over time, they died out. Mostly when the arcade became more “gimmicky” as you put it with things like racing games where you got into a car, or motorcycles. As well as the console games growing by leaps and bounds with the new hardware.
I remember that D&D arcade game, and yes it was fun.

I think that guy is a Spaniard fence or pirate.
yeah it really set itself apart from street fighter without being crappy like world heros.

Nice video yet again Draven.
Personally I see Playstation 1 as the point were the Arcademachines died out. Alto Nintedo and Sega did bring the gaming industry to a whole new level, the consols still could not compete against the Arcademachines graphic wise.
But it was at this point the Arcademachines started turning into gimics and transformed them into toys with cars you could sit on, and guns ect.
My best Arcademachine experiance as a kid was the Dungeon and Dragons cartoon game. =)
